Campaigning during ‘Ekushe Boi Mela 2016’

Buriganga Riverkeeper initiated a campaign activity during the ‘Ekushe Boi Mela’ in February 2016. As a part of the organization’s campaigning activities to create awareness about the River Buriganga, the organizer hoisted a big banner at the Ekushe Boimela premises.

Photograph by internationally renowned photographer Abir Abdullah was projected there along with the appeal to save Buriganga to save Dhaka and to save rivers to save the country. Buriganga Riverkeeper will conduct massive campaigning activities by posters and stickers in addition to the regular meetings with different stakeholders by the bank of the river.

Every year in February Ekushe Boi Mela (Book Fair) gathers hundreds and thousands of people in Bangla Academy and in the surroundings of the TSC of Dhaka University. To create awareness among the mass people, it was a great opportunity to attract the visitors to Boi Mela and engage their thoughts towards the protection of Buriganga and other rivers in Bangladesh.

Buriganga Riverkeeper secured formal permission from the authority of Dhaka University to project the large banner in the front side of TSC. The banner was displayed throughout the month of February.
