Advocacy
Engage in Advocacy:
Buriganga Riverkeeper is very closely engaged in advocacy works. On several important issues Buriganga Riverkeeper is contributing to the relevant government committees like the committee for reviewing the faulty demarcation pillar, committee for the tannery relocation and pollution control, committee to rescue the 2nd channel of Buriganga etc. Buriganga Riverkeeper proposed in the meeting of the National Task force for rivers to visit the site of tannery relocation and demanded a comprehensive work plan in 2013 which led the government to figure out a roadmap for the relocation work. All the committees are functional now very seriously as the honorable Prime Minister instructed every pertinent authority to take sincere steps to save our rivers.

Coordination
Coordinate with CSOs and Government Regulatory Agencies:
Buriganga Riverkeeper takes part in government committee meetings as the representative of civil society. We organize round table discussions on many issues that recruit and gather new stakeholders, organizations and people to fight for the cause together. We are fighting against the faulty demarcation pillar. Buriganga Riverkeeper was the first to identify and document violation of the court verdict on putting up the demarcation pillars. We were also the first to bring the issue of reckless encroachment to the 2nd Channel in front of the nation.
