Campaign to Raise Awareness for Saving Buriganga River through Song – Day 2

Being a part of the event series titled as ‘Save River through Song’ on both sides of the Buriganga river, another event was carried on 4th of May, 2017. By the initiative of Buriganga Riverkeeper, the event was held on the other side of the Lalkuthir Ghat close to Keraniganj. A cultural group named, ‘Rangmohal’ performed Bengali folk songs driven by eminent Lalon Analyst, Mr. Hirak Sardar. They provided information by singing and asked the people residing around Buriganga to come forward for keeping the waterway free of pollution and encroachment. The cultural group along with the representatives of Buriganga brought out a colorful random public procession on the bank of Buriganga carrying banners and shouting slogans for saving the river.  The cultural group chanted songs and demanded immediate removal of the massive encroachment. They also demanded removal of the other encroachments nearby.
